What HR should Prepare before Organizing a Webinar

     The biggest transformation due to the COVID-19 outbreaks is when all activities are done online—starting from learning activities, seminars, talk shows, to graduations. Since the pandemic is still going strong, several companies actively arrange online seminars known as webinars.  One of the most popular webinar themes for the audience is related to the recruitment process.

      HR should consider some preparations before holding a recruitment process webinar. Some of the preparations include:

  • Prepare the presentation materials

     This point is worth to be considered. Related to the theme of the recruitment process, several points that must be prepared to be conveyed to the audience are: 

  1. The importance of individual values can be highlighted in the recruitment process.
  2. The importance of the career plans that individuals have for the next few years.
  3. Provide information related to company expectations to each individual.
  4. Tell attendants about the importance of personal branding on social media.
  5. Provide information about common mistakes in the hiring process. 
  • Create the rundown

     Prepare the best rundown arrangement for the successes of the webinar. A webinar rundown usually begins with a few greetings, presentations, and a question-and-answer session. Questions can be opened via live chat or direct interaction with the audience. 

     To make the webinar more interesting, prepare a simulation interview session at the end of the webinar. Several participants should be invited to simulate the interview process.  A brief simulation interview followed by providing suggestions regarding “the best way for interview process”.  

  • Having a plan B

     There are always some unpredictable things can occur during the webinar. To make sure your live webinar runs smoothly, prepare a backup rundown based on certain conditions. It helps you to keep on track when unexpected things come.

  • Prepare the webinar supporting tools

     The next step is to choose the right equipment and the best webinar platform. Consider investing in a quality microphone and headphones to ensure high audio quality, a better USB webcam, speakers and lighting. In addition, test the software at least 30 minutes before the webinar starts.

  • Prepare your best appearance

     Dress professionally, as if you were going to a face-to-face seminar. Besides, facial expressions and body language must be considered and trained before the webinar takes place.
